しばらくしても、何もおきないので、ピーターはかくれるのを止めて、手押し車によじのぼって、のぞきこんだ。
The first thing he saw was Mr. McGregor hoeing onions.
まず目に入ったのは、玉ねぎを掘るミスター・マクレガーだ。
His back was turned towards Peter, and beyond him was the gate!
ミスター・マクレガーの背中はピーターの方に向いていた。
そして彼の向こうには、ゲートがあった！
